FaIsal Maina the son of Abdulrasheed Maina the Chairman of the defunct Pension Reform Task Team has been sentenced to 24 years imprisonment without an option of fine.
Trial court judge, Justice Okon Abang convicted the youth man on three counts for opening an unanimous bank account with United Bank for Africa (UBA), an offence the court held fetched him five years .
Second count : Faisal is to spend 14 years for controlling the sum of N58,111 585 millions said to have been traced to his father loots in the account.
On the third count, the judge sentenced Faisal to five years imprisonment for his failure to make full disclosure to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC that investigated the crime.
Justice Abang order that three sentences would run concurrently which means Faisal will spend only 14 years in prison.
The judge further ordered that the sum of N58,111,585 found in the account of Faisal Abdullahi Farm should be returned to the federal government.
The convict- Faisal had pleaded not guilty on arraignment in 2019 and later jumped bail . Despite the court warrant of arrest issued on him by the same court, Faisal is yet to be found.
His father, Abdulrasheed Maina who also is on trial had jumped bail with his son same time but was rearrested in Niger Republic and repatriated to continue his trial.
