Breaking N29bn fraud: Court orders ex -Gov. Nyako ,son to enter defence

Justice Okon Abang has dismissed the no case submission application filed by Nyako and 8 others facing  trial on 37 count charge over  N29bn fraud allegedly committed as governor of Adamawa state.

The Federal High Court in Abuja   dismissed their “no case ” submission applications for lacking in merit.
 Former Adamawa State Governor, Admiral Murtala Nyako (rtd),and other defendants has filed the application a after the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) closed it case.

Justice Okon Abang who dismissed Nyako applications for lack of merit ordered all the nine defendants in the matter including  Nyako son. Senator Abdul-Aziz to enter their defence immediately.

The defendants  are Murtala Nyako,his son senator Abdul-Aziz,   Zulkifik Abba and  Abubakar Aliyu 

Other defendants who were also discharged are Sebore Farms Extension Ltd , Pagado Fortunes Ltd, Zulkifik Abba, Abubakar Aliyu, Blue Opal Ltd, Tower Assets Management Ltd and Crust Energy Ltd.
“I have calmly, carefully and paintakingly
considered the submissions of the counsel .
“I have also  carefully considered the evidences of 21 witnesses called by the prosecution and the cross examination .

“I humbly found out that the prosecution has made out a prima facie case against the  nine defendants.”
They are facing trial on offences of money laundering,under the advance fee fraud Act..
