To prevent the spread of Hepatitis B among their clients, the Kano State Consumer Protection Council has closed a restaurant and a suya place in Kano.
Musbahu Yakasai, the council’s Public Relations Officer, said this in a statement signed and issued to newsmen on Thursday in Kano.
While sealing off the two regions, the council’s Acting-Managing Director, Baffa Dan-Agundi, stated that it was appropriate because some of the workers tested positive for Hepatitis B.
Dan-Agundi clarified that the action was taken to limit the spread of Hepatitis B, especially among the two facilities’ customers.
The affected restaurants were on Bompai and Maiduguri avenues, respectively.
“One infected person was found at one restaurant, while six other cases were confirmed at the suya location after testing revealed they were positive for Hepatitis B,” Dan-Agundi said.
He urged both restaurateurs and suya spot operators in the state to continue to monitor the health of their workers.
