Charles Chukwuma Soludo, a former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria,CBN, and Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, has won the Anambra governorship election with a total of 112,229 votes.
He beats his closest rival Mr. Val Ozigbo the governorship candidate People’s Democratic Party,PDP, with more than 100 percent margin. Ozigbo scored 53,807 votes.
The supplementary election conducted in Ihiala Local Government Area on Tuesday brought to an end an election that was almost mar by the activities of Indegeneous People of Biafra, IPOB.
APGA who led with majority votes in 18 local government area repeated the feat by scoring the most votes in the Ihiala supplementary election on Tuesday.
While APGA gathered 8,283 votes, PDP came second with 2,485 votes, while APC got 343 votes.
In all APGA won in 19 local government areas of the state and scored 25% in all the 21 local government areas of the state.
His closest rival, Mr. Val Ozigbo of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, came second with 53,807 votes, while the candidate of All Progressives Congress, APC, came third with 43,285.
About 253,388 voters took part in the election in Anambra state that has over 2.4 million registered voters.
