NAOWA National President presents Souvenir to COAS.
She made the appeal on Thursday when she led the new executive members of NAOWA on a courtesy visit to the Army Headquarters Abuja.
The visit afforded her the new NAOWA Exco an opportunity to officially and publicly congratulate her husband Lt.Gen. Faruk Yahaya on his elevation to position of Chief of Army following the sad demised of Lt.Gen.Ibrahim Attahiru in air crash.
Stating that NAOWA is geared towards providing care, Mrs Yahaya appealed for supports from the Nigerian Army to enable the association sustain its humanitarian activities across formations and units of the NA and to bring succour to the less privileged in the society.
NAOWA National President commended COAS gesture to the less privilege during the recently celebrated Nigerian Army Day and observed that itwent a long way in alleviating the suffering of over 284 widows and 5000 IDPs in various IDP camps across the country.
She prayed that God will give COAS the wisdom and strength to lead the Nigerian Army in the right direction.
Mrs Yahaha further appealed to the COAS to also ensure the completion of the recently initiated NAOWA Wellness Center flagged off by the former National President of the Association, Mrs Fati Attahiru. She disclosed that when completed, the project would be dedicated to the late COAS and his wife.
In his response, Lt .Gen Yahaya expressed gratitude to the National leadership and members of NAOWA for their visit.
He noted that their numerous humanitarian engagements have impacted positively on the lives of many less privileged persons in the society.
He urged them to sustain the good work in order to contribute their quota to the socio economic development of the nation.
General Yahaya commended members of NAOWA for standing by their husbands and keeping the home front while their spouses engaged in service to the nation. He urged them to remain steadfast.
