NYCN debunks Speculations, says Akoshile Maintains Acting President

In light of recent efforts by a group purportedly loyal to the suspended president of NYCN to undermine Ambassador Sukubo Sara-Igbe Sukubo’s suspension, the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) reaffirms its unwavering commitment to transparency, accountability, and the welfare of Nigerian youth.

Contrary to the assertions made by this group, Acting President Comrade Akoshile Mukhtar continues to steer NYCN with a steadfast dedication to fostering robust and responsible youth representation.

It is crucial to emphasize that holding Sukubo accountable is not an act of aggression, but rather a demand for transparency, a cornerstone principle for any democratic organization, particularly one representing the interests of Nigerian youth.

As an organization mandated to serve Nigerian youth, the NYCN and its leadership must consistently prioritize their welfare and address their concerns.

It is equally essential to recognize that internal conflicts must be resolved transparently to uphold trust in the leadership’s ability to advocate for youth interests.

Therefore, attempts to divert attention from the core issues by discrediting the call for accountability cast doubt on the faceless group’s commitment to openness and honesty.

Genuine leaders address concerns and respond to questions during crises. Thus, the call for Sukubo to address allegations against him should not be perceived as a personal attack but embraced as a test of accountability from a leader representing the vast population of Nigerian youth.

The NYCN calls for unity among its members, stakeholders, and the public, stressing that Nigerian youths deserve leadership prioritizing their needs over personal disputes, fostering an environment conducive to engagement.

The NYCN reiterates its demand for an impartial investigation into allegations against Sukubo to uncover and uphold the truth.

As Acting President, Comrade Mukhtar remains steadfast in leading NYCN through these challenges while urging Ambassador Sukubo to step forward and address the allegations against him, as a step towards rebuilding trust and accountability within the organization. Only through unity and these actions can NYCN effectively represent Nigerian youth.
