Operatives of the Department of State Security (DSS) and Policemen have cordon off all the roads leading to the Federal High Abuja the venue where the Leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu is facing trial today.
DSS operatives and Policemen cordon off the area on Monday as early as 5 am. Fully armed Policemen and DSS operatives with rifles manned the roads.
They used three vehicles each to roads leading to the Federal High Court through the Federal ministry of Justice , Abia House ,Nitel and Hilton hotel junctions, does effectively cut off all roads leading to the Court from a distance of about one kilometer.
Acting on the directive of DSS the authorities of Federal High Court on Sunday issued accreditation to just 10 journalists from ten media houses out of about 50 recognized members of Judiciary Correspondents that daily covers proceedings in court.
A copy of the circular signed by the Chief Information Officer, Catherine Oby Christopher listed Herald, NTA, NAN, Channels, AIT, The Nation, Premium Times, Daily Independent, This Day and TVC as those that will cover Kanu trial .
Other reporters who came for coverage of Kanu trial were turned back by DSS.
