Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr says his side will go for a win when they face Liberia in Saturday’s Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifier, The PUNCH reports.
Rohr who spoke with the media on Thursday expressed his delight at the return of the trio Alex Iwobi, Wilfred Ndidi, Samuel Chukwueze to the squad.
They missed last month’s games against the Central African Republic last month due to injuries.
The Franco-German was also pleased with the return of Odion Ighalo, who came out of international retirement to bolster the squad.
“We are happy to have the injured players who could come in the last matches return. Ndidi is here, Iwobi is back and Chukwueze so as it is now, we have a very full squad to go for the victory,” Rohr said at the pre-match press conference on Thursday.
“I am also happy to see Odion Ighalo and my assistant, Salisu Yusuf, return to the squad.”
“It’s a good feeling here and we hope the weather stays nice as it has been since we got here. Everything is calm and the team has been able to concentrate very well.”

Meanwhile, Liberia coach, Peter Butler, is wary of the talents at Rohr’s disposal ahead of the game, but adds that the Lone Star will play for pride.
Liberia have lost 10 of their last 15 encounters to the Eagles, recording only three wins and two draws.
“The most important thing from our perspective is that we are playing for pride and for our country,” Butler said on Thursday.
