Ahead of the Women’s World Day of Prayer Programme that comes up every first Friday in March annually, Ambassadors in the North-Central Zone lead by the President, Pastor Deborah Adaji rounded-off the church visitation they embarked upon since January recently.
The visitation which is first of its kind to be organized by the Ambassadors is aimed at ensuring huge participation of women from different christian denominations in the Zone.
Lead by the President of the Zone, the Ambassadors paid a courtesy visit to the National President of the Women Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (WOWICAN), Deaconess Bola Iheisulor and handed over the 2023 WWDP Banner to her.
The WOWICAN President gave them the assurance that women under the umbrella of the organization would attend the Programme en masse.
Within the period under review, the Ambassadors paid official visits to the following churches to sensitize their women about the up-coming programme and the need to participate and attend en masse.
The churches visited includes; Methodist Church Cathedral, First Baptist Church, Garki, ESOCS NHAC, Abuja, Cherubim & Seraphim Movement Church (Ayo ni o), ECWA, PFN, African Church, ESOCS Abuja Province, Anglican church, Salvation Army and Presbyterian church of Nigeria.
The Zonal Women’s World Day of Prayer Committee of Nigeria North Central is a call to Serve and it is a movement that is constituted to evangelize the Gospel of Jesus Christ as the oldest Ecumenical Christian Women Organization in the World since 1812.
The Motto: ” World Day of Prayer, Informed Prayers, and Prayerful action” best describe the objectives of the organization. (1 Peter 2:9 ” But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light.
Part of the aims and objectives of WWDP is to come together as one body from different denominations through weekly online, or Monthly basis either physically or via Zoom in order to pray for the peace, unity, security and general well being of our land and body of Christ in particular.
Most importantly to sensitize people of this body in Nigeria especially within Abuja, and other states in your zone.
This is normally done in rotation from one denomination to the other.
Others are to keep the meeting aglow in Spirit by sharing prayerful actions and interactions that would enhance the growth of this body from time to time before the yearly international WDP Day of first Friday in March.
Moreso, to reach out and mobilize Christian Women omen Organizations within Abuja both in the church and those in Government to be partners of this great body in Nigeria during our subsequent WDPDay.
And lastly to reach the different Embassies of the world and invite them on behalf of WDP Committee of Nigeria.
