US Congressman Riley M. Moore held a crucial meeting with Nigeria’s National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, alongside a high-level Nigerian delegation that included Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun, Attorney General of the Federation Lateef Fagbemi SAN, and Bianca Ojukwu. The talks centred on escalating concerns over the alleged persecution of Christians and the growing threat of terrorism across Nigeria.
During the meeting, Congressman Moore expressed deep concern about ongoing attacks on communities, stressing the need for Nigeria to strengthen security operations, protect vulnerable populations, and address religiously motivated violence. He also underscored the importance of stronger US–Nigeria cooperation, especially in intelligence sharing and counter-terrorism efforts.
Ribadu reaffirmed the Nigerian government’s commitment to addressing insecurity in all regions, outlining ongoing military and intelligence operations. Members of the delegation also provided briefings on federal initiatives to restore stability and urged international partners to support Nigeria’s long-term security reforms while avoiding narratives that may inflame tensions.
