The United States government has strongly condemned the recent mass abductions of students and teachers in Niger State and Kebbi State, calling for accountability and justice.
US Senator Jim Risch of Idaho criticized Nigeria’s government for failing to protect its schoolchildren from repeated attacks, saying that “little has changed” despite escalating violence. He also warned that the US would hold Nigeria responsible and called for more sustained action.
Another US lawmaker, Rep. Riley Moore, expressed deep sorrow over the Niger State abduction, framing it as an urgent religious freedom issue, and urged the global community to defend the vulnerable.
