The diplomatic missions confirmed the closure via their official social media platforms, informing the public that routine consular services will not be available on that day.
While the offices will remain shut for the holiday, emergency services for U.S. citizens will still be accessible through dedicated emergency lines. Officials advised Nigerians and U.S. citizens planning to visit either location to reschedule their appointments or inquiries until after the weekend.
This closure is part of the annual U.S. holiday observance, marking the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776. Normal operations are expected to resume on Monday, July 7, 2025.
