Troops raid terrorists’ camp in Sambisa, kill 3, recover weapons

Nigerian Army troops deployed to the North East in the ongoing counter-insurgency operations at the weekend conducted a raid operation on a terrorists’ camp in the Arra area of Sambisa Forest.

The Director Army Public Relations, Major General, Onyema Nwachukwu who disclosed this in a statement said during the encounter the troops gallantly neutralized 3 terrorists, including a suicide bomber and destroyed their enclave in the area.

Troops in a thorough search after the raid recovered 2 AK-47 rifles and a suicide vest.

In another clearance operation in the Buluwa Area of Kukawa Local Government Area of Borno State, troops also uncovered and destroyed another terrorists’ camp.

In the encounter troops killed one terrorist and recovered one AK-47 rifle, 14 rounds of 7.62mm (Special), a bicycle, foodstuff, a grinding machine, and other sundry items.

The Nigerian Army remains committed to the eradication of terrorism and insurgency in the region and will continue to conduct operations to ensure the safety and security of the populace, Nwachukwu said.
