Troops neutralize scores of terrorists, recover arms ,logistics items in Yobe

Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), in offensive operations across the theatre under Operation DESERT SANITY V, neutralised scores of terrorists in Yobe state.

In Sector 2, troops, fighting in conjunction with the Civilian Joint Task Force, successfully neutralised scores of terrorists in night operation around Muktum and Ngirbuwa villages. In the process they recovered two AK-47 rifles, three motorcycles, and several mobile phones .

Further exploitation along the terrorists’ withdrawal route revealed drag marks and a shallow grave, indicating additional enemy casualties.

Similarly, troops of Sector 1 conducted operations along the Bulayobe–Darel Jamel axis, and engaged fleeing terrorists attempting to cross the Main Supply Route.

The criminals fled in disarray, abandoning two sacks containing assorted logistics items suspected to be meant for terrorist elements.

The spokesperson of Headquarters OPHK Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba said in a statement that “the general security situation across the theatre remains calm but unpredictable.”

He said ,” however, troops’ morale and fighting efficiency remain high as they continue to dominate their areas of responsibility and frustrate terrorist activities.”
