The new Director of Defence Media Operations Major General Olatokunbo Bello said on Friday that troops operations against the insurgents within the week continues in high tempo in the six geo-political zones of the country.
He said troops of the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) in the process neutralized scores of terrorists and sustained momentum in the fight against criminal elements and enemies of the State.
The director who stated this in a statement said that troops recorded significant successes during the week including the arrest of a notorious suspect identified as Ibrahim Wakili who has been on troops watch list. The suspect was arrested on November 9, 2025 at Ungwan Gora in Sanga LGA of Kaduna State.
Major General Bello further disclosed that troops recovered large quantities of various arms, including automatic weapons, RPG tubes, machine guns, locally fabricated guns, and improvised explosive devices making materials, cache of live cartridges and assorted ammunition.
He said troops under the Joint Task Force North East OPERATION HADIN KAI (OPHK) during the week
denied Boko Haram, ISWAP and JAS terrorists’ freedom of action in the North East region by sustaining high operations momentum.
According to him, both kinetic and non-kinetic operations were held in Monguno, Gwoza, Bama, Ngazai, Damboa, Chibok and Biu LGAs of Borno State. Similar operations were conducted in Mubi South and Hong LGAs of Adamawa State.
In the encounters, scores of the terrorists were killed in action and 45 collaborators, informants, sympathizers and spy were arrested, the director said, while a kidnapped victim was rescued, he said.
Similar offensive operations were carried out by troops OPERATION FANSAN YAMMA in Tangaza, Sabon birni, Goronyo and Isa LGAs of Sokoto State as well as Maradun, Tsafe, Talata Mafara and Anka LGAs of Zamfara State.
Troops also conducted operations in Borgu, Kontagora, Magama and Mariga LGAs of Niger State. Similar operations were conducted in Funtua, Danmusa and Bakori LGAs of Katsina State. Troops also conducted operations in Sakaba and Shanono LGAs of Kebbi and Kano States respectively.
Several terrorists were killed in action and two of them were arrested, while 13 kidnapped victims were rescued.
He also said that during the period under review, troops of OP ENDURING PEACE responded to distress calls on terrorists’ activities in some sectors.
While between November 3rd and 13th, 2025, troops conducted offensive operations and responded to distress calls on terrorists’ activities in Bassa, Riyom, Jos, Barkin Ladi, Jos North and Mangu LGAs of Plateau State as well as Kaura, Sanga and Zangon Kataf LGAs of Kaduna State.
Troops engaged the extremist/ terrorists in firefights and killed some in action and arrested 16 of them while 5 kidnapped victims where rescued. Troops recovered some weapons, ammunition, motorcycles and vehicles from the extremists.
In the same North Central similar offensive operations were conducted by troops of Operation WHIRL STROKE between 3 -13 November 2025 in Dekina, Yagba West, Lokoja, Obajana, Ijumu, Kabba and Omala LGAs of Kogi State and Edu , Ifelodun LGAs of Kwara State.
They also conducted operations in Ukum, Gwer West and Guma LGAs of Benue State as well as Doma, Karu, Wamba and Keana LGAs of Nasarawa State.
Similar operations were conducted in Takum and Wukari LGAs of Taraba State, the director said adding that during the operations, troops killed some criminals in action, arrested 10 suspected other, while 48 kidnapped victims were rescued.
On their part troops in Operation DELTA SAFE theatre, foiled oil theft worth over Fifteen Million Eight Hundred and Ninety Three Thousand Five Hundred and Seventy Nine Naira (N15,893,579.00) only.
The breakdown indicates that ; 12,600 litres of stolen crude oil and 3,287 litres of AGO were recovered from thieves by troops who also discovered and destroyed 23 crude oil cooking ovens, 14 dugout pits, 16 boats, 12 storage tanks and 6 illegal refining sites.
Troops in the process arrested five
oil thieves and other criminals while assorted arms and ammunition were also recovered. .
In the South East troops conducted offensive operations in Njaba and Ezeagu LGAs of Imo and Enugu States as well as Obolo and Akpabuyo LGAs of Akwa Ibom and Cross River States.
