Troops of the Nigerian Army’s 12th Brigade have thwarted a bandit ambush in Lokoja LGA, Kogi State, rescuing a kidnapped victim in the process. The operation, carried out in the early hours of Tuesday, followed credible intelligence on bandits moving across the Oshokoshoko–Obajana corridor with abducted persons.
According to a statement posted on X, troops from the Kabba Patrol Base, working alongside Hybrid Forces, launched a special ambush that led to a fierce gun battle with the armed criminals. One bandit was neutralised during the exchange, and one kidnapped victim was successfully rescued.
