President Bola Tinubu will not intervene in the ongoing trial of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), his aide Chioma Wesley has said.
Speaking to State House correspondents after briefing the President at the Aso Villa, Wesley, who serves as the Senior Special Assistant on Community Engagement (South-East), explained that Tinubu is committed to upholding the rule of law and cannot influence judicial proceedings.
She noted that while many have called for Kanu’s release, the matter remains before the court, and the government will await its decision.
