President Bola Tinubu has commended the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for recovering over N500bn and securing 7,000 convictions in two years. Speaking through Vice President Kashim Shettima at an EFCC-NJI workshop in Abuja, Tinubu said the proceeds have been channelled into national programmes like the Students Loan and Consumer Credit schemes.
He urged synergy among all arms of government to strengthen the anti-corruption fight and restore public trust. Meanwhile, EFCC Chairman Ola Olukoyede warned that judicial delays in high-profile cases threaten the progress made in tackling corruption.
