President Bola Tinubu has extended warm felicitations to Dr. Awele Elumelu, wife of renowned businessman Tony Elumelu, as she marks her 55th birthday.
In a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President praised Dr. Elumelu as a distinguished physician, devoted wife and mother, philanthropist, and entrepreneur whose work has significantly contributed to national development especially in healthcare and the empowerment of women and vulnerable groups.
President Tinubu commended her for her “lifelong commitment to saving lives and empowering women and children,” and acknowledged her many achievements and recognitions in the medical and philanthropic spheres.
He highlighted her leadership at Avon Healthcare Limited and as Founder/CEO of Avon Medical Practice, noting her critical role in broadening access to quality healthcare across Nigeria and the African continent, particularly for underserved communities.
The President also recalled her pivotal service in 2018 as a Private Sector Champion for Immunisation in Africa with Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance.
