“Things have to be done correctly” – Former footballer, John Utaka speaks on Ahmed Musa leaving the Super Eagles camp ‘for his wedding’

Former Super Eagles forward, John Utaka, has shared his opinion about Super Eagles player, Ahmed Musa’s sudden departure from the national team camp to ‘get married to his new wife!

Musa left the team’s camp after Nigeria’s 2-1 victory over Ghana in the Unity Cup in London.

Nigerian football fans were left stunned when news surfaced that the veteran forward had returned to Kano to tie the knot with his fourth wife, Asmau Moriki, in Kano.

Speaking to newsmen, Utaka reacted to the news, urging that due process must be followed in handling of national team matters.

“We don’t know what discussions were held before Musa went to camp. It’s a national duty – things have to be done correctly,” Utaka said.

Musa’s appearance against Ghana marked his first game for Nigeria since the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

He came on as a second half substitute in the hard-fought win over Ghana.
