Nigerian singer Spyro has shared a heartfelt account of the challenges he faces while striving to uphold his Christian values despite growing fame and wealth.
The “Who’s Your Guy” crooner revealed that the past two years have been his most testing, as he turned down multimillion-naira endorsement deals he considered “Antichrist.” He explained that while many claim to love God in times of lack, the true test comes when opportunities and wealth begin to pour in.
Spyro noted that he often bankrolls his own shows because brands are hesitant to support what he calls “the Jesus brand.” He admitted that beyond financial hurdles, one of the toughest battles is receiving criticism from fellow Christians who he believes should stand by him.
