The Sokoto State Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, Barrister Nasiru Mohammed Binji has assured the state government remained committed to not only improving welfare of judicial officers but also committed to independence of the judiciary.
Nasiru Binji who spoke before declaring open the 2024 Sokoto Law Week, further divulged that the state government will not in any way interfere with the administrative and judicial functions of the judiciary in the state.
“”Allow me to most humbly assure you, my learned colleagues, that the administration of His Excellency, Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto, is fully committed to respect for and assuring the independence of the judiciary in Sokoto state.
“”This administration has not and will not in any manner interfere with the administrative and judicial functions of the judiciary. Since its inception, the administration of His Excellency has ensured uninterrupted and timeous flow of all the finances of the judiciary””. Barrister Binji stressed.
Continuing, Sokoto Attorney General, Binji, further appealed to members of the BAR to support the administration of governor Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto towards achieving the noble aim of upholding the Rule of Law and administration of justice in the State.
He however noted that having a seamless relationship capable of guaranteeing enabling environment between the governor and the judicial arm is sacrosanct to attaining all the lofty goals of the government.
“”Similarly, the administration of His Excellency is presently taking steps towards improving the welfare of Law Officers in the Ministry of Justice and providing them with appropriate working tools and atmosphere””.
