Security: Senator Barau donates 1,000 motorcycles to Policemen in Kano

…Pledges to give every police man in Kano a motorcycle,

The Deputy President of Nigerian Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, on Saturday, November 23, donated 1,000 units of motorcycles to the Kano State Police command .

Presenting the motorcycles to the Commissioner of Police Kano State Command in a ceremony at the Police command, Bompai, Kano, Senator Barau said that every policeman in the state must have an operational motorcycle.

He promised to ensure that every police man serving in the state gets a motorcycle to easy their movement to inaccessible areas and locations by trucks and cars.

Another reason for the huge donation. Senator Barau told the Command is that he was giving out the motorcycles in sincere appreciation of police men efforts, for not allowing insecurity ravaging neighbouring states to cripple into the state, a commercial hub of the region.

Pleading that the prevailing peaceful security atmosphere in the state must be preserved, Senator Barau said that security is the business of every one in the state, it should not be left for police and other security agencies alone.

He urged Kano State people and residents not to play politics with security.

The initiative is targeted towards supporting officers to enhance their operations for effective policing in the state.

The brand new motorcycles are designed to take on the racetrack and operate under all weather condition
