Security operatives rescue UNIABUJA’s Professors, sons, daughters from bandits

Federal Capital Territory (FCT),Police Command said  on Friday that all those  abducted by bandits from the University of Abuja on Tuesday have been rescued and reunited with their families.

Command’s Police  Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Josephine Adeh, disclosed this in a statement in Abuja.

The police  said the feat , details of which were not disclosed , was achieved through a joint operation with other security agencies.

Gunmen suspected to be bandits have attacked the staff quarters of the University of Abuja (UNIABUJA) in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on Tuesday.

During the attack which occurred very early on Tuesday, the assailants abducted six persons, comprising two professors, one senior lecturer, and three of their family members.

The Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), UNIABUJA Chapter, Dr Kassim Umaru, said those abducted were identified as q, his son and daughters, as well as Dr Tobins.
