…Party holds fresh primary Thursday Feb. 23.

The National Working Committee of All Progressives Congress (APC) has declared the party governorship primary election in Edo state held on Saturday February 18, “not completed”.

The ruling party said a new primary would be held on Thursday February 22 to determine its standard bearer for the September 21, 2024 governorship election in the state.

Mr. Felix Morka, the National Publicity Secretary of APC who made this known in a statement issued late on Tuesday, said that it is the position of the party on the controversial primary election.

“At its emergency meeting held today, Tuesday, February 20, 2024, to consider the report on the Edo state governorship primary election, the national working committee (NWC) deliberated on the report and resolved that the Edo state governorship primary election has not been completed, and has now fixed Thursday, February 22, 2024, for the completion of the primary election process,” the statement said.
