Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has announced a 50 percent reduction in fares on the Blue Line rail service, effective Thursday, September 4, 2025. The gesture marks the second anniversary of the commercial operations of the Lagos Blue Line, which began in September 2023.
According to the governor, the Marina–Mile 2 corridor has safely transported over five million passengers in just two years, with trains now running at 10-minute intervals and completing more than 90 trips daily. He noted that the service has significantly reduced travel stress while improving convenience for Lagos residents.
Sanwo-Olu described the Blue Line as a symbol of collective effort and progress, urging more Lagosians to experience the service. He reiterated his administration’s commitment to expanding infrastructure that would make mobility across the state easier, safer, and faster.
