Sallah: Remain steadfast in prayers for peace – Gombe governor urges Muslims

Gov. Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State has urged Muslim faithful to remain steadfast in prayers for peace, prosperity and development of the country.

This is contained in a Sallah message by Ismail Misili, Director-General, Press Affairs, Government House, Gombe on Saturday.

He said as Muslim faithful celebrated the 2022 Eid-el-Kabir,  there was the need for them to imbibe the spirit of love, obedience and sacrifice exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim and upheld by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

“I Also pray for the unity of purpose as panacea to insecurity, socio-economic challenges .

“This period reminds us of Allah’s unconditional love to mankind and the need for us to replicate same spirit in our homes and communities.

”And in our daily lives for the overall peace and unity of the state and nation,” he said.

Yahaya said such prayers were imperative to address security, social and economic challenges stagnating the nation’s development process.

The governor said the challenges should not allowed to distract Nigerians from learning the good lessons of the Eid-el-Kabir in putting their trust in God.

He lauded traditional rulers, community and religious leaders as well as the people of the state for their support to his administration.

The governor also urged the people to take advantage of the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration ( CVR) exercise to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), adding that, “it will allow eligible voters exercise their rights to elect credible leaders,” he said.
