The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party Governors’ Forum and Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, on Friday hosted Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, at the Bauchi Government House, urging him to return to the PDP ahead of the 2027 general election.
Speaking during an interactive session with journalists, Mohammed stressed the need for opposition unity, saying that the ADC, PDP, and other parties should work together to present a common front. He noted that although the current administration is not hated, there is “no budget, no plan, everything is about politics from day one.”
“There is a lot of hunger and anger. We don’t want to cause disparaging movements. So please come back. That’s where you belong. Don’t go anywhere that is in disarray,” he appealed to Obi.
On his part, Obi said he was in Bauchi to interact with youths in health colleges and Almajiri schools. He praised Mohammed’s work in the education sector and stressed that alliances ahead of 2027 should focus on development, competence, and compassion, not power grabbing.
During his visit, Obi donated ₦15 million to Malikiya College of Nursing Sciences (₦10m) and Intisharu Islamic and Quranic Memorisation School (₦5m). He told the nursing students, “The nurse is more important than the doctor. The nurse knows the patient, the nurse owns the patient, the nurse is everything.”
