Remains of former late President Muhammadu Buhari buried in Daura

President Bola Tinubu accompanied with members of Federal Executive Council on Tuesday received the remains of former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari at Umaru Musa Yar’Adua International Airport in Katsina from London, where he died on Sunday at the age of 82.

A delegation of Senior Federal Government officials led by Vice President Kashim Shettima and some family members accompanied the late President body on flight from London.

His body was received on arrival by a solemn crowd led by President Ahmed Tinubu, Katsina State Governor Dikko Umar Radda, members of the Federal Executive Council, and members of the Buhari family. The remains was later moved to his home town Daura.

The death of former President of Nigeria Muhammadu Buhari, who ruled the country from 2015 to 2023 and as Military Head of State from December 31, 1983, to August 27, 1985, was announced on Sunday.

His body would be interred later today (Tuesday) in his hometown, Daura, Katsina State, in line with Islamic rites.
