Red alert in Abuja over renewed threat by ISWAP to attack targets in FCT

Nigeria Security & Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has raised the alarm over renewed threats by terrorists to attack some targets in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

The Islamic State in West Africa Province ,ISWAP , last week’s Tuesday attacked Kuje maximum prison and freed all it’s members in custody.

A security alert issued on July 8 ,2022 by NSCDC, FCT command ,stated that “Certified intelligence reveals that members of the decimated terrorist group Slamic State in West Africa Province ([SWAP) have concluded plans to launch more coordinated and spontaneous attacks on selected targets within the federal Capital Territory (FCT) and had declare war against Christians in Nigeria.”

“The foregoing is to enable them hibernate in targeted communities (FCT) and re-strategize for further terrorist activities, especially on soft targets to keep the agenda of the group alive to the public.”

Recalled a recent terrorists attack on Kuje maximum security custodial centre on lasted for good two hours without any security resistance

Members of the public are enjoined to be vigilant and report any suspicious movement to law enforcement agencies.
