PSC Sends Monitors To Anambra, Warns Police Officers Against Compromise

The Police Service Commission has deployed its monitoring team to Anambra State ahead of the governorship election scheduled for Saturday, cautioning police officers to remain neutral and professional during the exercise.

PSC Chairman, DIG Hashimu Argungu (retd.), in a statement through spokesperson Ikechukwu Ani, described the election as a test of the Nigeria Police Force’s preparedness ahead of the 2027 general elections. He emphasized that any officer found compromising or breaching electoral guidelines would face disciplinary action.

Argungu commended the Anambra Police Command for its proactive measures, including the identification of flashpoints, and assured that the commission would commend officers who display professionalism and fairness during the polls.
