In his inaugural address to the Vatican diplomatic corps on May 16, 2025, Pope Leo XIV reaffirmed the Catholic Church’s traditional teachings on marriage and family.
He emphasized that the family is founded on the “stable union between a man and a woman,” underscoring the importance of traditional family structures in fostering peaceful societies.
Pope Leo XIV also highlighted the inherent dignity of all individuals, particularly the most vulnerable, including the unborn, elderly, sick, unemployed, and immigrants.
He called for governments to invest in families and uphold the sanctity of life, aligning with longstanding Catholic doctrine.
