Police Council confirms Usman appointment as substantive IGP

A meeting of Police Council presided by President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday confirmed the appointment of Alikali Baba Usman as the substantive Inspector General of Police.

The minister of Police Affairs. Maigari Dingyadi, announced Mr Usman confirmation after the Police council meeting at the State House Abuja . Usman was appointed acting Inspector General of Police on April 6, after Mohammed Abubakar Adamu was removed from office .

Usman was born on March 1, 1963 in Geidam ,yobe state and enlisted in the Nigeria Police on March 15, 1988. He holds a teacher’s grade II certificate [CTII] from Teacher College ,Potiskum, Yobe. Usman also has a degree in Political science from Bayero University Kano and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Maiduguri. Borno State in 1997.
