Paseiro Eyes First Win As Super Eagles Face Ecuador

Super Eagles coach, Jose Paseiro has worked on the players to go all out and win Ecuador in their international friendly match later today, Sleeknews.com.ng reports.

The Portuguese tactician lost his debut against Mexico and has promised to redeem his image by beating Ecuador as Nigeria tune up for the African Nations Cup qaulifier in Abuja.

He said he has learnt a lot from the Mexico match and the lessons would help them in playing better than what they did against Mexico.

“We want to do well better than Mexico game. Everybody knows they are rated 8th in FIFA ranking. It is a good thing and If we play better than what We did against Mexico. Though, it is a different game but we will do better.” Paseiro told journalists during the presser on Wednesday.

He continued, “There are lot of positive we can take from Mexico game and of course this is my first time I played against Mexico and I think beside the result, it was a game of two halves against a big team in a big Stadium where some play for the first time. And we played better in the second half.

“We will use this opportunity to improve even more towards the AFCON qualifier, Ecuador game will keep us ready for our much important AFCON back in Africa.

“After five trainings, we could not do more but like in the final part of the match, I explained to everybody, the first half we didnt do well because we didnt have much time for training so We could not do well with that system. We train just two times before the match against Mexico. The players have characters and qualities but now we have more time to prepare because now we are better prepared.”
