Oshoala out for two months with knee injury

Super Falcons striker Asisat Oshoala, has suffered a knee injury and will be out for two months.

Her club, Barcelona Femeni made this known in a statement on Friday.

The striker got injured will be aiming to score her 13th goal of the season for Barcelona Fermini when they hosted German side Hoffenheim on Wednesday in a UEFA Women’s Champions League game,

“According to the Club’s Medical Services, Asisat Oshoala has a ruptured posterior cruciate ligament in his right knee. The Nigerian striker, who was injured in the second half of Wednesday’s match against Hoffenheim, will be out for about two months,” the statement on the club’s website read.

In his fourth season at Barça, Oshoala has played 12 games in which he has scored 12 goals. She is the top scorer in the league, with 11 goals in nine games played.

Oshoala joined Barcelona in 2019, initially on loan, and has flourished since then.

Other titles won by the African Women’s Footballer of the Year are Primera División in 2019/20 and 2020/21 seasons, Supercopa Femenina in 2020 and Copa de la Reina.
