The Presidential candidate of Labour Party , Peter Obi has finally named his running mate, Senator Datti Baba-Ahmed for February,2023 general election.
Obi named Senator Datti Baba-Ahmed as the LP vice-presidential candidate in Abuja on Friday.
The 46-year-old is the founder of Baze University, Abuja and Baba-Ahmed University Kano State.
Speaking at the event, Obi said Baba-Ahmed was eminently qualified to bring his private sector and academic achievements to bear in the drive to rescue Nigeria from the primitive politics of ethnicity.
Obi added that the party will unfold its manifesto based on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) soon .
Doyin Okupe, Director General of Peter Obi Campaign Organisation and whose name was last month submitted to electoral body as Obi’s running mate had on Wednesday withdrew from the race.
Okupe had submitted a letter to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, withdrawing the position.
