Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has urged the Federal Government to halt all forms of apology and negotiation with terrorists, expressing deep concern over the worsening state of insecurity across the country.
Speaking at the Plateau State Unity Christmas Carol and Praise Festival in Jos, Obasanjo condemned the increasing wave of killings and mass abductions, including recent attacks on schools and farming communities in Niger, Kebbi, Kano, and Kwara states. He faulted the government’s approach, especially following the release of abducted worshippers after negotiations with their captors.
Obasanjo insisted that if the government continues to fail in its constitutional responsibility to protect citizens, Nigerians reserve the right to seek help from the international community. He stressed that insecurity has become a national crisis transcending religion, region, or social status, urging leaders to act decisively.
