Non – payment of minimum wage: JUSUN issues notice of indefinite strike

Judiciary staff Union of Nigeria, Federal High Court Chapter has issued a notice of an indefinite strike on the Federal High Court over the non- payment of new Minimum Wage, Salary increases and Wages Awards..

In the notification of strike served on the court on January 22, 2025 through the Chief Registrar , JUSUN warned that it’s staff will embank on an indefinite strike after 21 days of the notice period.

A letter titled “notification of impending strike” signed by Comrade Samuel Ikpatt served on the court reads as follows:

“Sequel to the attached circular from our union National Secretariat we write to notify the Management that we shall be proceeding on indefinite strike action after the expiration of Twenty-one (21) effect from Thursday the 23th of January, 2025.

“The above resolved is as a result of inaction on the implementation of the new Minimum Wage, 25% & 35% of Salary Increase and the Wages Award.

“Kindly note that the impending strike could be averted if urgent steps could be taken to ensure payment to our members before the expiration of the
notice.”
