Nigerian Legion has called on its members nationwide to desist from embarking on protest or demonstration of any sort over delay payment of 20 percent/ 28 percent minimum wage pension increase .
The Legion said veterans should not do anything that would amount to obstructing the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu .

Major General Abdulmalik Jibril made the call in Abuja during a press briefing following hints by some groups of veterans to embark on street protest over the delay payments of minimum wage pension increase.
General Jibril warned that it is not in the character of military personnel whether serving or retired to engage in protest or demonstration.
He stressed the need for veterans to abide by the principles of discipline the military is known for. ” We are not a labour Union. By our training and discipline , demonstration on the streets is an alien,” he pledged.
Besides, the National Chairman of Nigerian Legion said that all grievances of the veterans including yet to be paid 20 percent / 28 percent minimum wage pension increase are being addressed by a committee.
He emphasised the need for members of that committee to adequately brief the veterans in each of their zones on be need to be patient with the government, because ” No where, were the government has said, it is not going to pay the differential.”
