Nigeria has received 170 citizenship applications from nationals of various countries, according to the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who revealed this during a meeting of the Advisory Committee on Nigerian Citizenship in Abuja.
A statement by Mary Ali, Assistant Director of Press and Public Relations, noted that the Minister emphasized citizenship as a privilege to be earned through integrity and good character.
He urged thorough scrutiny of all applications and warned against attempts to obtain citizenship through illegal means.
Tunji-Ojo reaffirmed that the exercise aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, promoting national integrity, security, and prosperity.
