The Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) Cross River State Coordinating Office has commenced the training of over one hundred exporters on the rudiments of export.
The State Co-ordinator Dr Osas Damain said the workshop is geared towards exposing the newly inducted exporters on the rudiments of export business.
Addressing over one hundred exporters at Atsuit Hotel Calabar Parliamentary Road Calabar Cross River State said “It is my honour and privilege to welcome, most warmly our distinguished registered companies, potential exporters and special guests to this interactive forum’
“This workshop is organized by the Nigerian Export Promotion Council, Cross River State Coordinating Office in an effort to induct potential exporters with the basic rudiments of export trade”
“As you may be aware, Nigeria’s non oil export exports has grown from $2.210 billion in 2020 to $4.517 billion in 2023, despite various numerous challenges affecting the economy.”
“However, the continuous depreciation of the Naira against other currencies depicts the dire need for the country to earn more foreign exchange”
“Based on the foregoing, the Nigerian Export Promotion Council, has doubled its campaign and activities to increase export activities in the country’
‘ Hence, the newly appointed Executive Director/CEO, Nigerian Export Promotion Council, Mrs. Nonye Ayeni has initiated several programmes with the new mantra, “Operation Double your Exports”.
‘This sensitization workshop is therefore intended to arouse the interest and build the capacity of the Council’s newly registered companies and cooperatives to take practical steps towards venturing into the export sphere'”
“Distinguished Registered exporters, let me reiterate here that the State Coordinating Office is ever ready to interact very closely with the Organized Private Sectors and particularly registered exporters for a successful export endeavour. The Council;s doors at always open to attend to you beyond this forum”

“And also enlightened exporters on the documentation procedures necessary for a hitch free export business’To acquaint participants with challenges encountered in the field and prospects therein export business”
“To inculcate in them the standard requirements they must meet before gainful participant in exporting their products to international market’
Declaring the workshop open, the state Commissioner for Commerce Dr Abigirl Duke Orok said there’s no short cut in Export business.
According to the Commissioner, facilitate the process what ever you are doing do it properly it is going to be impacfully.
She advised the exporters to take advantage of the Cross River State Government policies to boost export.
The chief executive officer of Brightflow Logistics Anie Iton who was the guest lecturer took time to explained Non -Export Opportunities in export business’
She explained some documents used for export like better risk management, cash flow management, consignment, products development, adoption, process, packaging, government guidelines, etc.
She advised potential exporters to be open to learning.
