Ndidi ready for United big move –Fashanu

Former Wimbledon striker, John Fashanu, believes Nigerian midfielder Wilfred Ndidi is ready to make the big move to Old Trafford following latest reports that Manchester United are keen on signing him in January.

Ndidi has been severally linked with a move to Old Trafford.

Brazilian Fred and Nemanja Matic have failed to impress this season, while there are talks of Frenchman Paul Pogba leaving on a free next summer, with Real Madrid or Barcelona his possible destination.

Recent reports suggest United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be after the Nigerian in the January transfer window as he plans to reinforce the squad.

Speaking with The PUNCH, Fashanu said United’s keen interest in the Nigerian is a sign that the 24-year-old had what it took to play for the Red Devils.

He said, “United have watched him (Ndidi) for years and people need to know that they are one of the best and the richest clubs in the world. They can buy whoever they want instantly, the fact that they’ve been watching him for two seasons means he wasn’t ready to make the big step at the Old Trafford back then.
