A new Director of Public Relations and Information (DOPRI), Nigerian Air Force ,Air Commodore Wapkerem Maigida on Friday assumed duty with pledge to promote CAS vision to enhance and sustain critical air force capabilities required for joint force employment in pursuit of national Security imperatives.
Maigida a season public relations officer who twice served as Deputy Director Defence Information , Defence Headquarters Abuja also solicited the media corporation to promote the core value of the Nigerian Air Force.
He employ the media to remain steadfast in its watchdog functions by informing and enlightening the public about the happening in the country Defence and security sector.
He said it is essential for the media to shape public perceptions and views about the Nigerian Air Force towards an enduring National Defence and security.
“Thus, I believe this will boost the combat efficiency and effectiveness of the Nigerian Air Force towards enhancing airpower capability to confront enemies of our dear country”
Air Cdre Maigida thanked the Chief of the Air Staff Air Marshall Oladayo Amao for his appointment .He also thanked the immediate past DOPRI ,Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet for his immerse contributions .
Earlier, during the handover ceremony, immediate past DOPRI Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet had introduced Air Commodore Maigida to the Defence correspondents and asked for their corporation, soliciting for more support from media as he had enjoyed during his tenure.
