A small medical aircraft crashed into a residential area near Nairobi, Kenya, on Thursday, resulting in the deaths of six people and leaving two others seriously injured, according to local authorities.
The plane departed from Wilson Airport in Nairobi at 2:17 p.m. local time and was headed for Somaliland. It went down around 3:00 p.m. in Ruiru, Kiambu County, shortly after takeoff.
Kiambu County Commissioner Henry Wafula confirmed that four people aboard the aircraft, including the pilot, died in the crash. He added that two individuals on the ground were also killed, while two others sustained serious injuries.
