Major General Musa harps on proactive measures against insurgents

As the sad and unlawful  activities of the terrorists range on,  The Theatre Commander (TC) of Operation HADIN KAI Joint Task Force North East Major General   Christopher Musa has tasked troops to be more proactive in their operations.


He gave the order on Thursday ,July 29  in Damaturu , Yobe State after a  town hall meeting with security stakeholders in area of responsibility.


Observers said hopefully the meeting which was  attended by  members of the Civilian Joint Task Force, Vigilantes,  Hunters, Peace Corps officials, as well as members of Yobe State National Union of Road Transport Workers may prove a  veritable source toward  ending  the sad and unlawful activities of the rag-tag insurgents in the area.

The interaction afforded the Theatre and the stakeholders a veritable platform to analyse issues of security interest and to evaluate the conduct of the  various groups and union, as it affects the  ongoing counter Terrorism Counter Insurgency operations in the Theatre.

After carefully listening to the contributions of  participants during the meeting  General Musa  urged all to be sincere in their activities and endeavour to expose identified moles  within their organizations.

 Major General Musa was on familiarization tour of Sector 2 within the Theatre of operations and visited its Headquarters .

The Theatre Commander told  the troops to remain focused, determined and more proactive in their operational engagements. He further  charged them to dominate the general area and deny the insurgents freedom of action.

He noted that his visit had afforded him an opportunity to assess the combat readiness and preparedness of troops of the sector.
He later inspected the newly constructed barracks accommodation for officers and soldiers at 233 battalion, as well as the Field Ambulance established to cater for the medical needs of troops in the Battalion
