LPPC promotes 62 lawyers to rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN

The Legal Practitioners Privileges Committee (LPPC) under the chairmanship of Chief Justice of Nigeria,Justice Olukayode Ariwoola
has approved elevation of 62 legal practitioners to the rank of Senior Advocates Nigeria, SAN.

LPPC approved their elevations on Thursday September, 29, 2022 at its 154th plenary session held in Abuja.

A statement signed by the Chief Registrar of Supreme Court Hajo Sa’ad Bello stated that the 62 new Senior Advocates of Nigeria would be swore in at a ceremony scheduled to take place on Monday, November 21, 2022.

The meeting further approved a new guidelines for the conferment of the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria and all
matters pertaining to the rank to guide future exercises.

It explained that the rank of a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) is awarded as a mark of excellence to members of the legal profession who have distinguished themselves as advocates and academics.

Among the 62 new Senior Advocates of Nigeria includes Wahabu Shittu an Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,EFCC , private prosecutor and 52 other practicing lawyers and nine academia mostly professors.
