Los Angeles City Marks 1,000 Days to 2028 Olympics

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass has announced that the city is officially 1,000 days away from the Opening Ceremony of the 2028 Olympic Games, unveiling a bold new vision and signing an executive directive aimed at streamlining preparations for the global event.

Speaking during a news conference at Venice Beach, one of the key venues for Olympic competitions, Bass emphasized that the 2028 Games represent a historic opportunity to improve Los Angeles for future generations.

The 28-page vision plan lays out nine key focus areas:
• Accessibility
• Human rights
• Youth sports
• Community business opportunities
• Sustainability
• Workforce development and local hiring
• Arts and culture
• Community engagement and celebration
• Streets and transit

For the third time in history, Los Angeles will host the Olympic Games, and for the first time, it will also host the Paralympic Games.
