Nollywood actor Kunle Remi has stirred debate after ranking Nigeria as the worst African country visited by popular American streamer iShowSpeed during his ongoing Africa tour. Reacting to clips from Speed’s Lagos visit, Remi compared the experience with other countries on the tour and expressed disappointment with what was showcased.
The movie star lamented what he described as the erosion of Lagos’ cultural essence, raising concerns that nightlife excesses, fake drinks, and street begging have overtaken the state’s true heritage. He questioned what value the city now presents to international visitors seeking authentic African culture.
Sharing his thoughts on Instagram, Remi wrote: “After watching iShowSpeed’s journey so far, Nigeria is the worst on my own list. We just really stripped Lagos naked. Seems like we’ve lost the essence of culture. Our truth! All we have is fake drinks, club & beggy beggy skills.” His remarks have since sparked mixed reactions online.
