The Kano State Government has declared a 24-hour curfew from 6pm Wednesday, 20th September 2023, to 6pm on Thursday, 21st September 2023.
Kano State Police Command
announced on Wednesday that Police would strictly enforce the 24-hour curfew, in a bid to maintain law and order in the state after the election Tribunal nullified Gov ABBA election and declared All Progressive Congress (APC) Nasir Gawuna as the winner.
This move in a press release according to Kano State, Commissioner of Police Mohammed Usaini Gumel comes in response to a directive from the State Government.
Gumel emphasized the importance of preserving law and order in the state. The police have deployed combined security forces throughout the region, covering all corners, entry, and exit points, to ensure the curfew’s strict compliance.
“Residents of Kano State are warned that violating this curfew order will have serious consequences. Anyone found in violation will be arrested and made to face the full force of the law” stated Commissioner Gumel.
The Kano State Police Command also expressed its gratitude to the peace-loving people of the state, urging them to remain law-abiding during this challenging time.
“It is in the best interest of all residents to cooperate with the authorities in maintaining peace and order” Gumel noted.
