The Kaduna State Government has intensified efforts to promote women’s economic empowerment through a sensitisation workshop focused on implementing the state’s Women’s Economic Empowerment (WEE) Policy and Action Plan.
The workshop, held on Saturday, July 26, 2025, in Kaduna, was organised by the Ministry of Human Services and Social Development in collaboration with Dev-Afrique Development Advisors. It brought together key stakeholders from all 23 local government areas, including representatives from various ministries, civil society groups, the private sector, and women leaders committed to inclusive development.
Speaking at the event, Commissioner Hajiya Rabi Ibrahim called on more women entrepreneurs to take advantage of the N5 billion grant initiative targeted at cooperative groups and business clusters. While the programme aims to support 10,000 women, only 2,000 have registered so far. The grant is part of a broader strategy backed by the Gates Foundation through the WEE Catalyst Fund and coordinated locally by Dev-Afrique in partnership with the Albright Stonebridge Group.
